Barrel Weight Calculator

At TACOM HQ, people often ask, “Are Structured Barrels heavy?”  To precisely answer this question, we built a differential equation and thereby this form to simultaneously calculate the weight of a bull, tapered, and Structured Barrel with various inputs.  All input-values are in inches with net weights in pounds (lbs).  Calculations exclude gunsmithing, Dimpling, and the Fallen Angel finish for a fair baseline comparison.  Use the diagram to complete the form below.  Input-fields are numbered and marked with an asterisk.

Structured Barrels are lighter than a conventional barrel and since it affords greater stiffness lb for lb, end users may select larger diameters for greater thermal endurance and rigidity at an equivalent weight.
