About the Charlie TARAC®

_____________________________

Overview

The Charlie TARAC is a periscope that optically adds elevation to any scope to exceed its native travel.  Three models are available:  Macro, MK8, and the XD23.

Advantages

• Adjustable¹.
• Adds 0–250² MRAD (0–850 MOA) to any riflescope with a single optic.
• Increase the scope centerline³ to add more elevation and reduce optical interference from a hot barrel/suppressor.
• Superior image quality eliminates chromatic aberration⁴ and steers the image to objective center (ideal for low-light).
• Disrupts the scope’s outline to make spotting more difficult and flat faces are ideal for camouflage tape.
• Interchangeable mounts.

¹ Macro Charlies require mechanical adjustment.  MK8 and XD22 Charlies use a precision handle to dial 5—30 MRAD (20—100 MOA) increments.
² Varies by model.  Offsets exceeding 90 MRAD (300 MOA) require a Delta TARAC to offset the scope’s line of sight.
³ Macro and MK8/XD23 add 1.3″ and 1.8″, respectively.
⁴ Color separation from prisms refracting light.

Disadvantages

  • Weight.

*Procure the Bravo TARAC® to optically add elevation at minimal weight.

Attachment

+ Rail – Toolless Bobro quick-detach.  Optimized to mount directly in front of scopes on 1.5″ scope rings.  Works with scopes on canted rails up to 35 MRAD (120-MOA).
+ Scope – Attaches directly to the scope’s objective (not a sunshade).  Scope mounts are scope specific, requires 0.25″ (6 mm) clearance, and a digital level or Plumb Bob for initial setup.

Calibration

Options:
1. Match total, usable elevation.
2. Select a multiple of ‘5’ or ’10’ for simple, mental arithmetic.

*Most common offsets are 30 MRAD and 100 MOA.
